Curatorial Laboratory

The gallery's primary mission is to provide a space where students from various disciplines can meet, collaborate, and exchange ideas. We see particular importance in fostering connections between students of art theory and artistic practice, as opportunities for such collaboration remain limited. Another key objective is to foster dialogue between the contemporary art scene, students of art academies and universities, and the wider public. This exchange takes shape through a series of short-term exhibitions and installations presented in Edikula Gallery.

The Space

Edikula Gallery is located in Building C of the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University. The exhibition space occupies an architectural alcove distinguished by its large circular windows, which give the gallery its unique character while providing abundant natural light. Its location adjacent to the Faculty's Student Affairs Office ensures a constant flow of visitors and passers-by.

The exhibition space measures approximately 250 × 220 cm and includes access to an electrical outlet for artworks requiring power. Given the distinctive nature of the space, the gallery primarily focuses on site-specific installations and small-scale sculptural works.

Due to fire safety regulations, installations made of paper cannot be accepted.

A gallery space monitored by a security camera systém, curatorial support throughout the exhibition process, organisation of the exhibition opening, including photographic documentation, Exhibition promotion (posters and online communication), a contribution towards installation and transportation costs.
